Job Summary:
Provides independent instruction for 2 courses/semester in Plant Pathology. Depending upon the semester, the courses would be an upper-division course such as Plant Pathology 311 Food Security, and the second, a course aimed at non-science majors, such as Plant Pathology 123 Plants, Parasites, and People. The position will also serve to support instructional needs in high enrollment and/or laboratory courses of Plant Pathology including Plant Pathology 123 Plants, Parasites, and People and Plant Pathology 300 Introductory Plant Pathology. Courses will be determined in consultation with our Curriculum Committee. Supervises teaching assistants and graders. Develops and offers other courses to meet program needs. Provides instruction and/or course support during summer in Plant Pathology 123 Plants, Parasites, and People (every summer) and Plant Pathology 559 Diseases of Economic Plants (every other summer). Responsibilities: Provides classroom, online, and/or laboratory instruction associated with more than one lecture or laboratory course, assists with the design and execution of administrative functions associated with academic instruction and the development of pedagogy/andragogy or assessment tools and resources to support quality student learning. Provides for-credit instruction in formats such as classroom, online and/or laboratory settings, including grading. Serves as an instructor of record.
