Physician Assistant (PA)/Nurse Practitioner (NP) Hospitalist - Hillsboro, WI (.7 FTE)

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) with a strong interest in Hospital Medicine. This is a .7 FTE position working at Gundersen St. Joesph's in Hillsboro, WI.

This provider will be responsible for the medical care of our hospitalized patients at Gundersen St. Joseph's Hospital and Clinics. Our Gunderson St. Joseph's location is a 13-bed critical access hospital and a Level IV Trauma center. Responsibilities will include admission H&P, daily evaluation, diagnostic and treatment decisions, discharge planning and documentation and working with interdisciplinary team of nurses, therapists and social workers. Training and support will be provided through a combination of telemed-based oversight from the hospitalist physicians of Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, oversight by local physicians and opportunities to work directly with the hospitalist physicians in La Crosse during the initial training process.

Practice highlights:

• Daytime 8 hour shift with no call
• 126 shifts per year. Weekend rotation that would be one to two weekends per month. Holiday rotation.
• Cover admissions, consults, rounding, and discharges
• Physician tele hospitalist coverage provided by an internal medicine hospitalist team comprised of 25 physicians
• Team established in 2002 with high retention rate and growth
• Average daily team census of 8-10
