Summary of Position Functions
A General Foreman is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating all aspects of the field operations to effectively execute all assigned construction projects.

Essential Position Functions

Safety

  • Accountable for safety culture on job site, job site safety, pre-task plan compliance, safety equipment on job sites, safety equipment expenses on job site.
  • Accountable for identifying high-risk activities requiring safety upper management involvement.

Productivity

  • Accountable for About Time quantity tracking on all assigned projects.
  • Manages job site productivity goals.
  • Accountable for crew productivity and daily quantity tracking.
  • Accountable for individuals meeting productivity goals.

Quality Control

  • Accountable for project layout, trade coordination, project quality control.
  • Manages company quality control plan.

Material and Equipment Management

  • Accountable to minimize unplanned orders, site storage, staging, lay down, and material management on site is done efficiently.
  • Accountable for tools and rental expenses on projects.
  • Accountable for bulk buy process being completed.

Manpower

  • Accountable for evaluating worker skills.
  • Accountable for a 6-week look ahead.
  • Manages the safety of the crew.
  • Accountable for crew size.
  • Accountable to enter time into About Time daily.
  • Accountable for Weekly Time approval.

Project Documentation

  • Accountable for daily reports on job sites being completed, documentation (RFIs, drawings updates, submittals), job site photo documentation.
  • Accountable for RFI requests being submitted from the field.
  • Accountable for clarifying project scope to be completed by UES.
  • Manages documentation on all risk management issues.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Directly leads employees in the electrical department. Carries out responsibilities in accordance with Veregy's policies and applicable laws.

Education and Qualifications
To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Required to have UES Energized Electrical Work Training.
  • Required to have minimum OSHA 30 training.
  • Required to attend 100 hours of training per year.
  • Competent in the use of NEC (National Electrical Code) book as reference material in performing or directing the performance of work.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Possess advanced expertise in all aspects of trade related materials, components, equipment, systems methods of installation, safety procedures, safe work practices, sizing and other calculations, use of hand and power tools
  • Ability to read and accurately interpret project related drawings and documentation including plans, specifications, drawings, schematics, diagrams, sketches and blueprints to ensure proper installation means and methods
  • Competent in use of NEC (National Electrical Code) book as reference material in performing or directing the performance of work
  • Demonstrate proficiency and familiarity with use of proper hand and power tools and operation of related equipment.
  • Professional verbal and written communication and personal presentation skills.
  • Good organizational skills, detail oriented, ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work independently and in group settings.
  • Ability to build effective rapport with co-workers, clients and other professional partners.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and complete time sensitive tasks and responsibilities.
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment, adapt easily to changes to tasks or schedules, and work well under pressure

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Valid driver's license.

Travel Requirement

  • Some local travel required.
