Inspector
Description: Monitors progress and conducts quality inspections for initial construction and ongoing repairs/maintenance of housing units and/or related disaster housing infrastructure (staging yards, etc.) to ensure adherence to contract specifications, building ordinances, and environmental and zoning laws. Relies on instructions and pre-existing guidelines to perform the functions of the job. May be assigned to temporary or permanent residential or commercial structures. Records daily progress via electronically or using hard copy methods. Education and Experience: A bachelor's degree or a high school degree and 8 to 12 years' of equivalent experience. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the construction field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Monitor and certify acceptance of contractor work; May be required at permitting, site inspection, site preparation, group site design, group site construction, unit installation, unit maintenance, unit deactivation, staging acceptance, permanent housing construction and repairs, apartment repair and habitability, and other direct housing-related activities. Housing Install/Maint/QC - Perform inspections of all phases of TTHU installation maintenance, and deactivation, group site constructions or MLRP program projects; Must be able to effectively utilize mobile technology applications; Experience in construction management or inspection is highly preferred; Residential design and construction or land development experience is preferred. | |
