JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for daily, weekly, monthly and yearly financial record keeping utilizing legally compliant accounting practices. Responsible for guiding financial decisions by establishing, monitoring and enforcing policies and procedures. Protects assets by establishing, monitoring and enforcing internal controls. Monitors and confirms financial condition by conducting audits and providing information to external auditors. Provides management, direction and oversight to the finance team members.
JOB DUTIES:


  • Responsible primarily for the accounting and financial record keeping of the company.
  • Works in conjunction with other accounting teams to balance and record intercompany transactions.
  • Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
  • Monitors and confirms financial condition by conducting audits and providing information to external auditors.
  • Maximizes return and limits risk on cash by minimizing bank balances and making investments.
  • Prepares budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans.
  • Achieves budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data.
  • Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, filing financial reports, and advising management on needed actions.
  • Ensures operation of equipment by establishing preventive maintenance requirements and service contracts, maintaining equipment inventories, and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Completes operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
  • Maintains financial staff by recruiting, selecting, and training employees.
  • Maintains financial staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.



QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.


  • Experience with QuickBooks
  • Experience with a major ERP system
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent computers skills: Microsoft Office, Outlook or other email
  • Ability to read, prepare and interpret financial reports and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to complex inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:


  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred, but not required
  • Minimum 5-10 years' experience in accounting/finance
  • Experience with tax filing is helpful
  • Experience with financial statements and reporting requirements




Pay Range: $70,000 - $85,000 per year
