Description


Our Controls and Instrumentation Engineer in Pittsfield, MA supports Mativ's Filtration and Advanced Materials Segment. This individual specifies, develops, and maintains control and measurement systems. Process control and instrumentation technology at Mativ encompasses PLC-based manufacturing automation systems and operator interfaces. This includes computer networks, data historians, distributed control systems (DCS), special controllers (drives, stand-alone controllers, safety systems, analyzers, etc.), IoT devices and infrastructure, and associated field instruments.

qualifications:
Required
  • Knowledge of current OSHA, NFPA, UL/CE, and standards.
  • Skilled in articulating complex system designs and concepts in an easily understandable manner.
  • Well-versed in managing vendors with the goals of confirming design suitability, adherence to standards, and controlling cost.
  • Experience with Automation System design and deployment, specifically Allen-Bradley PLC's.
  • Experience with HMI development and implementation, specifically AVEVA System Platform and Allen-Bradley PanelView
  • Experienced in implementing Variable Frequency Drives and servo control systems.
  • Experienced in Industry 4.0 implementation with historical data collection.
  • Experience with Vision Inspection systems such as ISRA.
  • Skilled in industrial protocols such as Ethernet, EthernetIP, Allen-Bradley Data Highway, ControlNet, and RIO.
  • Skilled in OLE for Process Control (OPC) tools such as AVEVA OI Gateway Servers.
  • Skilled in Computer-aided design systems such as AutoCAD
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • May require travel several times a year.

Education & Experience
  • B.S. Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in the papermaking, or nonwovens industry (a plus)
  • Experience managing capital projects (a plus)
  • Six Sigma or Green Belt certifications desired or experience working in a Lean Manufacturing environment.
