Director, Global Supply Chain

Job Summary:

Responsible for developing, leading, and implementing global Supply Chain strategies to assure optimal sourcing of product to meet customer needs at the most effective cost to the corporation. Provides corporate level policies and guidelines in order to control and measure inventory and service levels of manufactured and purchased product. Provides leadership and guidance for Distribution and Warehousing, Inventory Control and Planning, and Procurement for the Fike locations globally. Leads efforts to align supply chain efficiency with customer pricing strategies to ensure profitability and market competitiveness.

Primary Responsibilities:

Develops and implements industry leading Supply Chain processes and systems to support delivery, quality, and cost objectives throughout the global organization.

2. Responsible for the functional development of Supply Chain personnel within the appropriate business units.

3. Works with the business units to ensure consistent performance metrics for Supply Chain quality and service are in place, and that opportunities for cross-business unit leverage and best practices are identified and utilized.

4. Advises business unit teams as well as leads selected efforts to implement a streamlined, efficient, and synchronized global Supply Chain.

5. Directs and supports a staff of professionals to ensure timely and cost effective procurement, storage, manufacture, and distribution of quality products to satisfy customer requirements.

6. Develops and implements corporate systems, policies and procedures relating to Supply Chain activities.

7. Provides leadership in establishing corporate and departmental goals and objectives related to inventory investment levels, supply chain management, customer pricing alignment and demand planning objectives.

8. Confers with department heads to ensure the coordination of supply chain activities with Sales, Manufacturing, Finance, Quality, Engineering and New Product Development.

9. Compiles, analyzes and reports on various aspects of obtaining, maintaining and distributing inventories.

10. Provides guidelines for the disposition of scrap, surplus, and obsolete inventories.

11. Negotiates, either directly or through subordinates, supplier partnership agreements to ensure acceptable pricing and material availability.

12. Establishes and ensures that corporate training guidelines are met.

13. Establishes policies and provides resources to assure appropriate and accurate inventories are maintained on hand and are accurately reflected in the Fike Business System.

14. Coordinates activities related to annual physical inventory in Blue Springs, subsidiaries, and remote locations.

15. Prepares, submits and manages departmental financial plans.

16. Reviews personnel training logs. Provides coaching, counseling, and performance feedback. Performs salary reviews within department. Coordinates leaves and schedules of staff members. Responds to personnel issues.

17. Develops and executes pricing policies and strategies related to inventory management and demand planning, ensuring alignment with cost-to-serve models and overall corporate goals.

18. Creates and conducts training related to Supply Chain systems and procedures.

19. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational seminars and workshops, reviewing professional publications and participating in professional societies.

20. Maintains the confidentiality of all information processed.

Performs related duties as assigned. Regular and consistent attendance is required.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, hear, see, sit and use hands. Travel domestically and internationally as required.

Job Qualifications:

Required: Bachelor's degree in Business or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of ten years post degree experience in Materials Management or a related field. Demonstrated managerial experience. Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel.

Preferred: Master's degree in Business or related field. NAPM or APICS certification. International experience/position responsibilities. Exposure to JDEdwards Business Systems.
