The Director of Domain Engineering will lead the engineering initiatives within a key business domain, guiding the technical strategy and fostering innovation. This role is essential for building, scaling, and sustaining high-performance engineering teams to deliver outstanding products and solutions.
THE DAY-TO-DAY:
Define the overall engineering vision and roadmap for your assigned domain, ensuring alignment with MGM Resorts International's strategic objectives. Foster a culture of excellence within the engineering team by promoting collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning. Recruit, develop, and mentor top engineering talent, building a high-performing and diverse team. Lead the development and implementation of technical architecture and best practices, ensuring scalability, security, and operational efficiency. Manage cross-functional partnerships with product management, design, and other departments to ensure seamless product delivery. Champion innovation by identifying, evaluating, and adopting emerging technologies to enhance the domain's capabilities. Oversee the delivery of high-quality engineering projects within budget and timeline constraints. Track and analyze engineering performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and optimize team effectiveness. Present technical strategies and solutions to senior leadership and stakeholders. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
Extensive experience with Data Platforms, CRM systems, and Azure Databricks, driving data strategies, and big data solutions. Expertise in AWS, including managing cloud infrastructure and location-based services. Expertise in Data Architecture, ensuring efficient data storage, processing, and retrieval. Strong operational mindset focused on building a high-performance, scalable engineering culture. Deep understanding of SDLC methodologies (e.g., Agile, DevOps) and architecting scalable software systems. Proven leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate, motivate teams, and drive strategic, results-oriented solutions. Passion for innovation and staying current with the latest technological advancements.
