Position Summary

Trideum Corporation has an opening for a mid-level Data Scientist with a focus in Cybersecurity supporting multiple programs in Huntsville, AL. We are seeking candidates who are passionate about unlocking the value of complex data to improve quality, efficiency, and insights for system test and evaluation. We are looking for candidates with recent/relevant experience in cybersecurity, while blending expertise in data science, computer science, and artificial intelligence (AI). This individual will lead a small team in researching/developing/implementing advanced cyberattack techniques.

The selected candidate will work at our office in Huntsville. The person in this role will be responsible for implementation of cognitive cyber functions to simulate cognitive weapon and defensive systems as well as assisting in improving the program's data and analytics efforts to improve the collection, processing, analysis, and visualization of data to operationalize outputs from test events. This candidate will collaborate on innovative projects at the intersection of cybersecurity and AI, contributing to cutting-edge advancements in the Operational Testing (OT) field.

This is an exciting opportunity to pioneer the application of cybersecurity/data science techniques for test and evaluation, modeling and simulation, and experimentation. In this role, the candidate must be able to conceptualize solutions, convey complex topics to a wide range of audiences, define product roadmaps, and apply new technologies to meet emerging customer needs. The person in this role must be able to work extensively with cross-functional teams to achieve customer and corporate goals.

What You'll Do

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:



  • Act as a lead to support the research, development, and/or implementation of advanced cyberattack techniques
  • Develop new Artificial Intelligence software applications and/or extend existing applications.
  • Perform quantitative and qualitative data science activities to improve the collection, processing, analysis, and visualization of data to improve test and evaluation over the program lifecycle.
  • Develop custom machine learning models and algorithms and perform complex data analytics.
  • Support the development and implementation of big data analysis tools and database schemas.
  • Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.
  • Identify stakeholder, customer, and user needs to design new systems and/or improve existing systems.
  • Coordinate with program management personnel to prioritize programmatic and technical objectives.
  • Duties may include supporting the development of technical artifacts, as well as the development of thought-leading white papers, presentations, journal articles, and conference papers.
  • Overnight travel on an as-needed basis, approximately 10%.
  • Additional duties as assigned.


Requirements and Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited school in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Data Science, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science, etc.).
  • Must have at least 5 years of SW development experience with a minimum of 2 years focused on hands-on AI software development.
  • Possess a strong data science, data engineering, machine learning, and/or artificial intelligence background.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate results from deeply technical topics to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • US citizenship with the ability to obtain a security clearance


Desired Qualifications:



  • Master's Degree from an accredited school in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Data Science, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science, etc.) with 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with leading data science projects from conception to production.
  • Familiarity with developing, refining, or maintaining intrusion detection systems (IDS)/intrusion prevention systems (IPS).
  • Implemented rule-based cybersecurity measures.
  • Development experience with security information and event management (SIEM) technologies including but not limited to Grafana and Wazuh.
  • Proficient in compiled programming language such as C, C++, Rust.
  • Strong familiarity with packet manipulation libraries such as dpkt, scapy, libtins.
  • Skilled in utilizing penetration testing tools such as those found in Kali Linux
  • Strong working knowledge of computer networks and the OSI model
  • Adept at working with large datasets to find opportunities for products and process optimization and using models to test the effectiveness of different courses of action.
  • Substantial experience using a variety of data analysis methods and tools, using/creating algorithms, and implementing models.
  • Experience in software development environments utilizing Agile methodology.
  • Experience in the defense sector and/or aviation, space, or missile communities.
  • Experience supporting DoD or Army Test and Evaluation communities.
  • Active Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI
