Description

Production Trainer - Asheville

Reports to: Sr. Manager of Engineering and M&D

Supervises: NA

Summary Statement: Under the general supervision of the Sr. Manager of Engineering, the employee is this position evaluates, trains, and retrains employees to perform at their highest level of efficiency.

Essential Job Functions



  • Plan, direct and control the training process for each employee.
  • Analyze training needs to develop new training processes or modify/improve existing processes.
  • Evaluate trainees' performance on a regular basis using established performance indicators.
  • Develop and maintain training records for individuals being trained; provide progress reports to trainees' manager on a regular basis.
  • Maintain operational knowledge of all plant processes in order to effectively train others.
  • Periodically review training materials with various supervisors to ensure materials remain accurate.
  • Design guides and/or procedures for the purpose of making various jobs blind friendly.
  • Learn the operations of all new sewing contracts, administering sewing assessments to potential new hires.


Marginal Job Functions



  • Assists other personnel as time and knowledge permit.
  • Participate in training and meetings as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities



  • Must be able to bend, walk and stand for 10 hours per day
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds.
  • Must be able to visually perform inspections of trainee's work.
  • Must have excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to build interpersonal relationships.
  • Must have the ability to convey successful training attributes based upon individual needs using a variety of techniques, fixtures and devises.
  • Must have the ability to encourage and motivate.
  • Must display patience.
  • Must have a basic working knowledge of Word and Excel.
  • Must be able to professionally encourage and facilitate cooperation and teamwork in order to reach a common goal.
  • Must have the skill to act in a tactful, sensitive manner.



Education and Work Experience



  • Previous training experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
