Service Technician I (OTX)

Primary Purpose

Responsible for handling, inspecting, and preparing waste for the incineration process.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Ensures Health & Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.
• Safe and compliant loading and/or unloading of drums and containers from trucks.
• Process and/or store hazardous waste materials.
• Weigh and breakdown large into smaller containers.
• Sampling and inspecting all containers as they are received.
• Drive forklift to retrieve drums and containers from storage. Operate computer and conveyor.
• Transport/position trailers and tankers for collection of slag and ash.
• Clean-up work areas.

Education/Experience: High School or its equivalent required. Forklift experience is a plus. HAZWOPER certificate and / or Firefighting experience is preferred.

Knowledge and Abilities: Due to potential exposure to atmospheres/waste/materials this position requires that you must be able to be clean shaven at all times to don a respirator for your protection. Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays and over time when necessary. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.
