Job Description Summary

Position Objective:

As a Product Technician for Trench Safety (TS), you will be responsible for providing project planning and advisory services on engineered support of excavation systems as well as major project and will serve as the primary liaison between customers/project managers, sales leaders, engineering department and operational services. You will also display great attention to detail and excellent understanding of the TS business.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Operations team in planning equipment inventory and shipment for orders on assigned projects
  • Supervise the accuracy and safety of the assembly/installation of all Sunbelt Rentals TS equipment
  • Communicate the delivery, and technical support needs of equipment to branch personnel for all assigned engineered projects
  • Support project planning in conjunction with the Sales and Operations team
  • Consult with the Engineering team on jobsite parameters, project design, and constructability
  • Liaison with customer project managers on site preparation, equipment needs and delivery, as well as customer's team training
  • Perform oversight and communicate design modifications and equipment substitutions due to changing job site conditions
  • Manage all Sunbelt Rentals TS equipment and personnel on site
  • Supervise the accuracy and safety of assembly/installation of all Sunbelt Rentals TS equipment
  • Serve as an advisory role to customer project managers on site
  • Perform regular inspection of all Sunbelt Rentals TS equipment on site during installation and post-installation
  • Coordinate the safety and accuracy of equipment removal and disassembly
  • Maintain all company standards for safety on jobsites and while traveling to and from work locations
  • Promote a team environment with co-workers and other departments
  • Promote internal and external customer service excellence
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Education & Experience:

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience in a related field plus 3+ years relevant work experience
  • Management or supervisory experience in construction projects
  • Knowledge of construction principles and the ability to read a variety of site plans and technical drawings
  • Excellent communication skills: ability to interface with all levels of personnel, including senior management, engineers, supervisors and skilled labor
  • Working knowledge of support of excavation systems and structural support
  • Advanced problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for construction projects
  • Commitment to customer service and ability to go above and beyond to complete a project
  • Travel: up to 75% or more based on project volume and customer need
  • Must reside within a 50 mile radius of a TS branch which you will report to
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • Must have a clean MVR
  • Commitment to safety in all facets of work
  • Experience in engineered shoring systems, trench excavation or related industry preferred
  • Fundamental understanding of OSHA 29 CFR-Part 1926-Subpart P
Base Pay Range: $17.89 - 25.71

You will become eligible for benefits on the first of the month following 30 days from your start date. Sunbelt offers team members the following time off from work, subject to Sunbelt's policies: twelve to twenty-five vacation days depending on years of service; five sick days; six paid holidays, two paid half day holidays, two floating holidays, one inclusion day, and one volunteer day (unless specified in a collective bargaining agreement).
