Personal Computer Support Technician
Job Description:

This Personal Computer Support Technician (PCST) position is responsible for providing a wide variety of IT services at a NASA center. These services may include end user support of compute, mobile, and print devices. The services may include the occasional support of inventory management of IT equipment under the direction of the center NEST Center Operations Manager (COM). In this position, the candidate will also be responsible for the timely and accurate management of IT equipment that directly supports computer operations on the NASA End-user Services & Technologies (NEST) program. Examples of such equipment will include laptops, desktops, peripherals, and all other IT equipment that is orderable on the approved NASA catalog. The timeliness and accuracy referred to in this description is key to successful execution of this position and necessary for continued employment. This open job requisition will be used to hire a PCST at HQ. This position will require the ability to unpack, pick up, and carry packages and materials up to 40lbs.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Properly updating all assigned tickets accurately and in a timely manner to meet contract requirements is a requirement for continuing employment

* Install and test personal computers, printers, and other peripherals

* Perform technical, operational, and training support to users of personal computers either by telephone, or on-site, for PC desktop hardware and software packages

* Troubleshoots computer problems, performs hardware and software diagnostics, coordinates needed repairs

* Resolves computer system problems, including coordination between users and components of a local area networks

* Configure operating systems

* Software installation, and configurations

* Participates in the evaluation of system configuration and software

* Physically unpacking new equipment and packaging old equipment for removal, as needed

* Support the preparation and imaging of new computer hardware, as needed

* Ensuring all Service Delivery related Service Level Agreements are met to meet the requirements of the program

* Adherence to all NEST Service Delivery policies and procedures

Qualifications:

* Experience providing IT support in a large organization

* ServiceNow and CostPoint experience is a plus

* Attention to detail is a must

* Self-motivated is a must

* Ability to work efficiently with accuracy and meet demanding timelines is a must for successfully executing the requirements for this position
