The Department of Economics in the John Chambers College of Business and Economics, West Virginia University, located in Morgantown, WV, is seeking qualified applicants for one tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level. We seek a candidate with teaching and research interests in applied microeconomics, including but not limited to public economics, labor economics, and applied econometrics. The position will be on a 9-month appointment, beginning in Fall 2025.

A successful candidate will be a member of the economics department, be expected to produce high-quality scholarship for leading economics journals, serve on dissertation committees, participate in the department's Ph.D. program in Economics, teach in the MS in Economics program, and teach undergraduate courses. A successful candidate will devote a portion of their research and service time to the Knee Regulatory Research Center. Other responsibilities include service-related functions to the department, college, and university.


Qualifications

Candidates must have successfully completed their Ph.D. in Economics, or a related field, such as public policy or applied economics, by August 2025. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment. Rank and salary will be commensurate with experience.

The College also has Ph.D. programs in Economics and in Business Administration, with concentrations in Accounting, Finance, Management and Marketing and Doctor of Business Administration. The College is located in Morgantown, a college town with high quality of life, within driving distance of Pittsburgh and Washington, DC.
