Overview
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Utah State University is seeking applications for a tenure track, academic-year (9-month) faculty position at the assistant or associate professor levels in electrical engineering. Candidates must have an earned PhD in electrical engineering or a related field and expertise in or related to power electronics or wireless power transfer. The ideal candidate must demonstrate potential for or a strong record of externally funded research, publications, teaching competency, and professional leadership. Candidates are expected to build a strong program of funded research and to be strong teachers at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. The successful candidate is expected to be a significant contributor to the ongoing growth of the ASPIRE: Advancing Sustainability through Powered Infrastructure for Roadway Electrification, an NSF Engineering Research Center (https://aspire.usu.edu/).

Responsibilities
  • Conduct research and other scholarly activities, including the pursuit of a strong externally funded research program.
  • Effectively teach undergraduate and graduate courses.
  • Serve as a mentor to students on their research activities.
  • A commitment to department, university, and community service.


Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  • PhD electrical engineering degree or its equivalent in related field.
  • Evidence of established or emerging research stream(s) with publication potential.
  • Record of success or potential in effective teaching and mentoring.
  • Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Record of strong peer-reviewed publications in a technical field of interest to the department.
  • Record of success or potential in obtaining external funding.
  • Potential to collaborate with existing ECE faculty on externally funded projects.
  • Industry or research experience building and deploying electric power systems such as vehicle charging equipment.
