JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary: The FSQA Senior Supervisor supports the FSQA Manager to ensure the Westfield facility produces safe and quality product, follows HACCP and SSOP programs and meets the high-quality assurance standards of our company and business partners. This position is essential for the success of the Westfield FSQA department to help ease the additional workload for our team and help efficiently meet our customer's needs.

Essential Functions:

Food Safety/HACCP



  • Serves as the alternate SQF Practitioner for the Annual SQF Audit and will work closely with the FSQA Manager to ensure the Westfield location meets and maintains all Food Safety regulations.
  • Maintains all Food Safety forms and ensures all FSQA job duties performed by the Westfield Team are performed properly.
  • Coordinates all Food Safety related trainings with the team members, and monthly internal audits of the facility, and creates and manages the GMP trainings.
  • Assists with responding and investigation of temperature alarms on loads shipped from Westfield.
  • Carries out the duties of the FSQA Manager in his/her absence


Quality Assurance



  • Inspects product as needed for Quality concerns.
  • Coordinates cases sent to customers and is responsible for oversight of all data entry into the customer's respective systems.
  • Assists the QA Manager with customer concerns, formal responses, and corrective actions.


Required Qualifications:



  • Internal Candidate: Must currently be in aSupervisory role.
  • External Candidate: Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, Food Science or related field and two years of leadership experience OR demonstrated three plus years supervisory experience in a USDA regulated facility leading a Quality Assurance team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, to include professional verbal and written communication, fluency in English, and the ability to communicate, make decisions and lead teams in stressful situations.
  • Ability to complete HACCP and SQF training
  • Competency in Microsoft Office Suite; emphasis on Word, Excel, and SharePoint comfort learning and using new software/applications.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Prior supervisory experience in an SQF audited facility.
  • Knowledge/experience in the meat (esp. poultry) industry
  • SAP experience


Supervisory Responsibility: This position will supervise the FSQA Supervisors.

Work Environment: This position will at time work in areas of high noise and varied temperatures (warm to cold). Slippery floors, moving equipment, and dust may be present. Personal protective equipment will be worn as necessary or required.

Physical demands: Position requires sitting in an office setting, standing for up to 8 hours, walking, bending and occasionally lifting to 50 lbs.

Position Type: This is a full-time exempt position primarily during 1st shift. Some Saturday work may be required. Occasional presence on 3rd shift.

Travel: Potential, but infrequent
