Senior Aerospace Spencer is an engineer-driven organization focused on high-pressure hydraulic fluid fittings for use in commercial and military aerospace applications. We specialize in source-controlled, standard, and proprietary fittings. Senior Aerospace Spencer also identifies solutions for fluid conveyance challenges related to fitting applications. What does the job involve?

Job Summary:

As a Systems Technician Intern, you'll have the opportunity to sharpen your technical skills and contribute to exciting projects that make a real impact. You will gain hands-on experience in a dynamic IT environment. You'll work closely with our experienced team to provide technical support to end-users, troubleshoot system issues, and implement security measures. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your technical skills, learn, and contribute to the overall security and efficiency of our IT infrastructure.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Under general supervision of the IT Coordinator, the successful candidate must be able to perform a variety of job duties including, but not limited to:



  • Provide first-line technical support to end-users via phone, email, and in-person.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve common IT issues, such as password resets, software installations, and hardware malfunctions.
  • Document and track help desk tickets to ensure timely resolution.
  • Assist in implementing security best practices, such as patching, vulnerability scanning, and network configuration.
  • Participate in security audits and penetration testing to identify vulnerabilities.
  • Stay updated on the latest security threats and trends.
  • Assist with system administration tasks, including user provisioning, software deployment, and hardware maintenance.
  • Contribute to IT projects, such as network upgrades and system migrations.
  • Learn and adapt to new technologies and tools.



Qualifications:



  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic understanding of IT concepts, including networking, operating systems, and security.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.



Physical Requirements:



  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods, often in manufacturing or warehouse environments.
  • Regularly required to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, squat, and reach to perform inspections.
  • Good vision (corrected or uncorrected) to detect small defects and read measuring instruments accurately.
  • Ability to work in an environment with moderate noise and fluctuating temperatures.
  • Frequent crouching, kneeling, or reaching under desks to connect or disconnect cables and peripherals.
  • Ability to distinguish between colored wires or cables for proper setup and troubleshooting.
  • Lifting, carrying, or moving equipment such as monitors, desktop computers, and small printers (weighing up to 30-40 lbs).
  • Fine motor skills for attaching screws, mounting brackets, or plugging in connectors.
  • Climbing small ladders or steps to access equipment on higher racks.
  • Standing for extended periods while configuring networking equipment.
  • Working in temperature-controlled environments (e.g., server rooms with cooler-than-average temperatures).
  • Frequent walking between workstations, offices, or meeting rooms to assist staff with technical issues.
  • Ability to transport lightweight tools (toolkits, diagnostic devices) across different workspaces.
  • Spending several hours a day in front of a screen to troubleshoot software issues or run diagnostics.
  • Maintaining focus on detailed technical tasks requiring visual precision.
  • Installing or replacing components (e.g., RAM, hard drives, power supplies) in computers or devices requiring precise hand movements.
