Real Estate Finance Associate

Venable LLP's Real Estate Finance Group seeks a midlevel associate with a minimum of four years of experience to join the practice in the Washington, D.C., or Baltimore office.

The qualified candidate has experience representing lenders, servicers, borrowers, and/or government-sponsored enterprises in connection with commercial loan transactions, including experience reviewing, drafting, and negotiating loan documents, SNDAs, and subordination and/or standstill agreements; reviewing, analyzing, abstracting, and managing legal due diligence and complex real estate ownership structures (such as organizational documents and ownership structures, ground leases, condominium documents, CCRs, joint venture agreements, preferred equity terms, mezzanine loan documents, subordination agreements, and SNDAs); title, survey, zoning, leases, and legal opinions); and managing and closing complex commercial real estate transactions. Experience with multifamily lenders, and/or syndicated credit facilities is a plus. The ideal candidate has worked on loans secured by multifamily housing, seniors housing, affordable housing, manufactured housing, and/or hotels and is comfortable training and managing junior associates and paralegals. Prior law firm experience required. The successful candidate has excellent oral and written communication skills is detailed-oriented and organized and has an outstanding academic record. Candidates must hold a juris doctorate degree from an accredited law school and be admitted to, and in good standing with the relevant jurisdiction's bar. The anticipated base salary for this position is $215,000 to $355,000 per year. The actual salary offered will be based on a number of job-related factors including, but not limited to, years of related experience, level of education, skills, credentials and certifications, responsibilities and performance.
