Your Role:
As a Medical Laboratory Scientist I, you'll play a crucial part in patient care as a member of the testing personnel team. You'll be responsible for specimen processing, conducting tests, and reporting results for both waived and non-waived tests. After completing comprehensive training and competency assessments, you'll independently perform tests within the scope of your education, training, and experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Specimen Handling & Processing: Follow our lab's procedures for specimen collection, testing, and result reporting.
Proficiency Testing: Maintain records of proficiency testing samples and ensure they're tested as rigorously as patient samples.
Quality Control: Adhere to strict quality control protocols, ensuring accuracy through documentation of all activities like calibrations, instrument checks, and maintenance.
Corrective Actions: Address any issues affecting test performance, or escalate them promptly, taking corrective actions as needed.
Problem-Solving: Be proactive in identifying potential problems and work with the team to resolve them, ensuring reliable test results.

Experience Minimum Required
* Internship must be completed through their appropriate accredited Medical Technology program.
Experience Preferred/Desired
* One year of experience preferred
Education Minimum Required
* Bachelor's degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory, chemical, physical, or biological; OR Associate degree in chemical, physical or biological science or medical laboratory or equivalent education and training in accordance with CLIA regulations.
Special Skills Minimum Required
* Laboratory generalist.
* Computer knowledge.
Licensure and/or Certifications Required
* Licensure is required within 6 months of graduation from an accredited Medical Technology program or an active license if the applicant has graduated six months or more, from an accredited program.
* ASCP or AMT or HEW
Licensure and/or Certifications Preferred/Desired
* MT(ASCP)
