The Autism Spectrum Program Speech/Language Pathologist position includes the implementation of speech and language therapy for the Autism Spectrum Disorder Services at GHC-SCW. The Autism Spectrum Program Speech/Language Pathologist will work under the supervision of the Autism Spectrum Manager. Within this position, the Speech/Language Pathologist will design and implement communication programs for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Speech/Language Pathologist will be required to integrate parent training into all treatment plans and will provide strategies needed for optimal communication. Additionally, the Speech/Language Pathologist will be responsible for recommending specialized equipment, environmental adaptations and access to assistive technology as needed. This position will require flexibility in availability to service a growing clientele and caseload.

The Speech/Language Pathologist will be part of the Autism Services Program and provide clinic-based treatment per department protocols. They will complete documentation in the electronic medical record in a timely manner per department and organization protocols, and chart in a manner that is patient-oriented and professional. Speech/Language Pathologist will be an active participant in department meetings.

Job Specific Minimum Qualifications

1. Master's degree in Communication Disorders or Speech and Language Pathology
2. Licensed by the State of Wisconsin to practice speech/language pathology or demonstrate eligibility pending application.
3. Valid ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competency.
4. A vast knowledge of behavioral and communicative principles and techniques for individuals on the autism spectrum is strongly preferred.
5. Knowledge and experience with feeding, assistive technology and parent support preferred.
6. Experience working with a variety of age groups from birth-adulthood and extensive knowledge of typical communication development.
7. Experience working collaboratively with related professionals and providers (OTs, psychologists, BCBAs)
8. Adherence to a high level of professional and ethical standards (in accordance with ASHA standards).
9. Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, community members, and staff members.
10. Commitment and proven ability to provide inclusive, equitable, respectful, and competent care to persons of diverse cultural backgrounds and identities.
11. Knowledge of and ability to use personal computers required. Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs, and ability to learn and use electronic medical record systems such as EPIC.
12. Access to and ability to use a personal computer with stable access to high-speed internet and video conferencing capacity.
13. Ability to work with minimal supervision required. Ability to work in an office and remote environment.
14. Ability to maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
