Purpose/ Summary:

The Senior Accountant position is responsible for supporting finance functions, including month-end close, payroll, travel and expense monitoring, and accounts payable; collaborates within the corporate finance team and regularly communicates and coordinates with other site finance teams and departments.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

Under limited supervision:

• Prepares journal entries and maintains the general ledger
• Reconciles weekly payroll activity for the monthly bank reconciliation
• Performs month-end close, including recurring journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
• Maintains accounts payable and prepares weekly check runs for Corporate
• Monitors travel and expense and employee credit cards
• Supports consolidated Pursuit Aerospace month-end closing process
• Assists with the year-end financial statement audit and tax returns
• Participates in supporting ad hoc projects as needed
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Minimum Required Qualifications

Knowledge, Skill & Ability:

• Advanced knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the ability to stay current with changes in GAAP
• Knowledge of financial statement preparation
• Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
• Proficiency in Excel skills, including v-lookup, index/match, pivot tables, sorting, filtering, and formatting
• Analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to research technical accounting issues
• Effective interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills
• Organizational skills
• Excellent attention to detail skills with the ability to execute accurate transactions
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Education / Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, and
• Three (3) years of relevant accounting experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified Public Accountant

• Experience in the manufacturing industry
• Federal and state tax knowledge
