The successful candidate will be eligible for an academic appointment at Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University. Excellence in patient care is a core value of the DS&EM. We provide comprehensive musculoskeletal clinical services to athletes and those who seek care for musculoskeletal injuries and disorders. In addition to musculoskeletal care, we offer individualized nutrition, exercise, and training recommendations. We are also adept at supporting patients to manage their chronic conditions, such as asthma and diabetes, who wish to increase physical activity or maintain high performance athletic participation. Our sports medicine physicians work closely with our surgical partners to facilitate appropriate referrals seamlessly for patients. Our clinical model extends to our sports medicine fellowship program which offers training alongside faculty with a strong commitment to clinical excellence and health equity. The Department of Family and Community Medicine and the DS&EM have hosted an ACGME-accredited fellowship in sports medicine since 1996, the first program in the Philadelphia region. Our graduates have gone on to start and fill leadership roles in many fellowships in the region and nation. Our graduates are integral team members in the care of high level collegiate and professional athletes across the country. In addition, the DS&EM offers highly sought-after medical student and residency electives.
