Daikin Applied is seeking a Director of Manufacturing Engineering to direct and coordinate activities of the Manufacturing Engineering Department. This individual will develop and improve manufacturing processes and systems; apply engineering principles to design, modify, or develop facilities, testing, machines, equipment, or processes used in manufacturing products; and evaluate work processes to determine strategies and programs that provide greater productivity and efficiency. Location: In office, Staunton, VA.

What you will do:



  • Provide input for the manufacturing strategy including machine, tool, and process technologies and productivity increase objectives
  • Responsible for the manufacturing engineering initiatives including transformation projects to increase productivity and lower costs, capital expenditure planning and implementation, and the successful production launch of new products
  • Lead and direct the efforts of the manufacturing engineering staff to accomplish company improvement objectives
  • Lead and direct the development and implementation of advanced manufacturing techniques and processes that affect long range factory operations
  • Determine feasibility of purchasing new plant equipment or modifying existing equipment/facilities considering costs, available space, time limitations, company planning, and other technical and economic factors
  • Develop strategies and programs that improve the productivity and efficiency of manufacturing processes
  • Negotiate price, terms, and conditions with outside suppliers on major equipment purchases ensuring installation is performed on time and equipment is functioning according to specifications and supplier provides instruction/training on the operation of new equipment
  • Responsible for the manufacturing engineering department and keeping up to date with production technology and HVAC manufacturing industry trends
  • Advise senior management of new developments that may affect manufacturing processes, schedules, costs, and profit
  • Overall responsible for well researched and documented capital expenditure requests to support manufacturing objectives

Minimum Qualifications:



  • 4-year bachelor's degree
  • 10 years related experience and/or training
  • 5 years management experience

  • The typical salary for this position ranges from $126,100-$205,100 in Virginia. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
