POSITION PURPOSE The National Account Manager (NAM) position is a strategic role focused on driving sales and managing relationships within the kit packing and government sectors in the acute care market. They will also be assigned additional distributor relationships to manage. Key responsibilities include:
- Sales Activities: The NAM will be actively engaged in national sales efforts, specifically targeting growing our presence in kits and government entities to maximize the sales of PDI's products and services. This involves understanding the unique needs of these sectors and tailoring sales strategies accordingly.
- Market Intelligence: The NAM will monitor and stay updated on competitive activities. Regular reporting to the Sales and Marketing teams is essential to ensure PDI's offerings remain competitive and aligned with market demands.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: This role requires close collaboration with internal teams such as Sales, Marketing, Finance, Legal, Clinical, and Operations. Working across these departments will help to develop tailored programs and solutions to enhance PDI's growth within the assigned accounts.
- Account and Program Expansion: The NAM will focus on growing PDI's presence within key kit packers and government accounts. This includes working alongside PDI's Health Systems and Territory Sales Manager teams, as well as collaborating with distributors, to enhance the company's footprint in the acute and non-acute markets.
This position is essential in expanding PDI's market share in the kit packing and government healthcare sectors, leveraging strong relationships, and driving strategic growth within these key areas. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
- Develops & implements creative sales programs/proposals to grow entire PDI product portfolio
- Builds strong relationships with assigned distributor partners
- Stays well-informed of trade information, competitive market share and pricing and makes recommendations for possible new products or sales opportunities within assigned accounts
- Review sales forecast from distributor accounts assigned and work with demand planning
- Self-starter in initiating activities and programs to drive compliance and growth.
- Drives programs with distributor partners, Territory Sales Managers, and Health Systems Directors.
- Provides the Director of National Accounts with information regarding new sales contract opportunities; reviews and assists in creating programs and incentives for acute accounts and key distributors to grow PDI products
ORGANIZATIONAL ALIGNMENT
- Leads the strategy and execution of the government segment growth, as well as with our kit packers and assigned distribution partners
- Collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders ensuring flawless execution of customer value proposals and programs.
REPORTING / ANALYSIS OF PERTINENT SALES RESULTS
- Monitors Salesforce.com to engage with Territory Sales Managers on opportunities.
- Monitors out the door and traced sales
- Prepare and deliver on time reports including but not limited to sales forecasts, monthly reports, and expense reports.
PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS
- Growth of PDI portfolio compared to prior year within each assigned market
- Develop, plan and execute distributor partnership programs to drive sales
- Collaborate and partner with the PDI field sales to grow PDI branded business in assigned market segments.
- Educational goals are met consistently (PDIU, subject matter expertise, etc...)
- Back Office activities are consistently up-to-date (SFDC, reporting, etc...)
QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION:
- 4 yr. college degree or equivalent experience
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
- Must have extensive, in-depth knowledge of Acute Care distributors.
- Must have solid understanding of the sales cycle and sales techniques.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Minimum of 7 years of verifiable sales results in the Healthcare sales and account management, working for leading manufacturing and/or distribution companies.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Remote / Field-based role that will interface in healthcare settings requiring possible use of personal protective equipment.
- Travel required which can include nights and weekends
SALARY RANGE
- $110,000 - $120,000 Annually
