Quality Assurance Specialist - 1st shift

This is a contracted position for the next five to six months.
Pay: $25-30/hour based on experience
Hours: 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday
Summary
The Quality Specialist is a key member of the quality and production team. This position will be responsible for providing technical engineering support focusing on quality related projects such as new product development. This individual will help ensure products are developed and executed in accordance with applicable contractual and regulatory requirements, customer expectations and industry standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintains PPAP, completing all paperwork as required for tracking and timely submittal, and document control including distribution/removal of obsolete forms and work instructions.
  • Maintains sample parts.
  • Create and maintain WI, SOP and document control.
  • Understand and able to perform time studies and process flows.
  • Lead in quality planning/manufacturing/engineering PPAP process reviews.
  • Communicate professionally with peers and customers regarding PPAP issues.
  • Able to interface with internal and external customers on APQP, process control pans, PFMEA, MSA and SPC.
  • Coordinate course of action for alleviating resolving concerns (8D and 5Y's) as needed.
  • Analyze and verify dimensional capability of products and processes (include suppliers).
  • Understand Gage R&R and Capability studies.
  • Comply with all company procedures, polices and work instruction and ITAF16949/ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Follow all rules, regulations and work processes set forth by the company.
  • Other duties as deemed necessary to meet the needs of the business.
Education and Experience:
  • Proven experience (2+ years) in quality or QA (education or role).
  • Able to read drawings.
  • Experience with root cause analysis, SPC knowledge, technically able to utilize measuring
  • equipment and gauges are a must.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand written and verbal instructions and communicate effectively with all levels of peers, suppliers and customers is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, Email), Minitab and Adobe Acrobat and various systems for logging and tracking results.
  • Detailed oriented, strong time management and organization skills, and collaborative mentality.
