CAS is currently seeking a Life Sciences Sales Strategist. This position will be located in our headquarters in Columbus, Ohio.

Job Summary:

The Life Science Sales Strategist will create and implement sales strategies to grow our life sciences business and increase revenue. The position will work with various teams to develop and execute plans through analytical thinking, market knowledge, and strategic planning to devise effective sales strategies that will drive success and build client relationships in this market space.

Job Accountabilities:



  • Establishes and grows expertise of Drug Discovery Content and Tools market segment among colleagues and leaders in the Marketing, Product Management, and Sales divisions. Serve as the CAS Internal Expert Consultant on the Drug Discovery Content and Tools market segment including but not limited to:

    • Market research, and track competitive landscape.
    • Create and implement the CAS positioning within the landscape.
    • Expert guide on internal Drug discovery organizations
    • Map sales process.
    • Client strategy, market position, budget, and goals to develop an offering that delivers long term value for the customer and the business.
    • Network and establish important relationships with key personas and senior management across an entire organization and deliver tailor made value proposition.


  • Manage and collaborate various teams on the LS implementation with the Commercialization team, in planning and executing the CAS sales launch of the Content Enabled Computational Drug Discovery Platform

    • Define sales strategy and sales coverage model for Commercial and Academic segments including best practices and success stories. Accountability for presenting to and influencing executive audiences
    • Serve as the LS sales expert on the Commercialization Team developing the launch plan; Ensures collaboration, play leadership role in collaboration among sales, marketing, product, and other team members.
    • Develop and Collaborate with Sales Enablement to execute a strategy create internal tools to enable the Sales team to better sell our products.


  • SME on drug discovery market and developing materials for sales training.
  • Serve as key point of contact for the sales team for Life Science sales strategies, making decision and judgements for customer solutions and resolving issues.
  • Lead our Drug Discovery Platform Sales Efforts Responsible for setting and achieving the strategy for overall Annual Contract Values (ACV)/Percentage of Sale (POS) for LS sales initiatives.
  • Create the account penetration plan for Drug Discovery, positively influences executives and other leaders. Guides implementation of approved plans.
  • Initially serve as the sales specialist for Drug Discovery tools and then manage the sales specialist team as it grows.
  • Ensures Product Management, Sales, Marketing, and CAS leadership are appropriately knowledgeable on Life Sciences market feedback. Provide expertise regarding future roadmap, feature enhancements, and GTM strategy.
  • Coaches and mentors less senior colleagues.
  • Other duties as required.


Qualifications:



  • Master's or PhD in Computational Chemistry or related field
  • Minimum of eight years software/services sales experience in the pharma, drug discovery/development domain
  • Demonstrated knowledge of strategic sales approaches. Experience in understanding client strategy, market position, budget, and goals to develop an offering that delivers long term value for the customer and the business.
  • Ability to network and establish important relationships with key personas and senior management across an entire organization and deliver tailor made value proposition.
  • Key account management and team selling background required.
  • Verifiable history of positive customer relationships
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent communicator who can clearly convey complex ideas and data in written, presentation, and verbal formats to prospective & existing customers and external organizations as well as CAS executives and team members. Strong capacity to communicate with executives and drive alignment on common objectives.
  • Exceptional writing skills that emphasize storytelling, not jargon.
  • Active listening and demonstrated ability to work across a variety of audiences.
  • Travel is required for this role- up to 25%
