Early Childhood Psychosocial Group Leader Assistant/Attendant to work full-time in Atchison.

The Guidance Center (TGC) is the Community Mental Health Center for Leavenworth, Atchison, and Jefferson counties in Kansas. We treat everyone with the same quality of care, regardless of their ability to pay. As an employee of TGC, you will have the opportunity to help the most vulnerable population in Kansas. We are the only provider that offers counseling, case management, psychosocial, and medication services all at the same site. Salary and Benefits for Early Childhood Psychosocial Group Leader Assistant:



  • Base hourly rate of $19.69 to $22.10 based on relevant experience.

  • Monday - Thursday 8:00am-5:30pm, and 8:00am-10:00am on Friday. No weekends or on call responsibilities

Primary Duties for Early Childhood Psychosocial Group Leader Assistant:



  • Provide attendant care services which assist with promoting successful completion of daily activities and assist with promoting successful group interactions among consumers.
  • Encourage and support clients' efforts to effectively problem-solve and interact with others.
  • Work respectfully and supportively with clients' parents/caregivers, while observing appropriate boundaries
  • Co-facilitate groups as assigned and assist with development of group program curriculum.
  • Encourage and support clients' engagement in pro-social and YPP activities.
  • Encourage and support clients' efforts to effectively problem-solve and interact successfully with others


Minimum Qualifications for Early Childhood Psychosocial Group Leader Assistant:

EDUCATION:



  • High school graduate or GED required. Must have completed one year of college course work in the field of human services, or have one year of experience in the field of human services, or one year combination of education and work experience in the field of human services


EXPERIENCE:



  • Required: at least 6 months experience working with individuals in the community. Experience gained through practicum experience or volunteer work can be included. Preferred: experience working with individuals with mental health issues.
