Job Description: The Maintenance Technician II/III holds a general responsibility for production equipment throughout the manufacturing facility with regard to all controls (including PLCs), electrical/mechanical projects and repairs. The technician will support various Maintenance tasks related to preventive maintenance, updating, repairing, optimizing and installing existing and new equipment. The technician will also support electrical projects initiated by Maintenance work orders, Maintenance Management or Project Engineering Personnel
- Provide support on programmable logic controllers (PLCs), loop control equipment, variable frequency drives, chart recorders and operator interface devices. These devices may be used in sterilizers, lyophilizes, filling machines, air handlers, chillers, vial cappers, etc. Responsibilities include troubleshooting and repairs, performance of preventive maintenance, provide programming changes when required.
- Interpret controller programming information in an informative way. Individual must be able to provide follow detailed guidance from other maintenance technicians, and to be able to complete tasks with supervision from the maintenance management and engineering staff.
- May be required to provide low voltage (<480V) electrical assistance while providing support for facility renovations, equipment installations, maintenance work orders, etc.
- Read machine blue prints, including machine drawings, building construction floor plans, P&ID diagrams, electrical drawings, schematics for pneumatic, gas supply, vacuum and high pressure piping systems.
- Basic understanding of DC, AC circuits, motor control and measuring techniques.
- Computer skills to include Microsoft Office suite proficiency, basic computer repair, and a basic understanding of computer networking. Previous experience with SAP desired.
- Responsible for understanding the proper use of engineering and maintenance documentation, which is required under cGMPs. Examples include the Maintenance Work Order System, the Critical Change Request System, SOP documentation, Validation documentation, etc.
Qualifications: Technician I:
- High school diploma or Equivalent required.
- Associates of Science degree and/or Technical Certification desired.
- 1+ years related experience (or 2yr related school) required
- PLC Certified Programming Certification desired.
- Mechanical Aptitude required.
- PLC & Electronics Coursework preferred.
- 5+ years industrial experience preferred.
- Pharmaceutical Experience preferred.
- Working knowledge in Microsoft Word and general awareness in Excel required.
- Working Knowledge in Manual Dextarity required.
- Read and understand construction and machine blue prints required.
Technician II (in addition to above):
- 2+ years related experience required.
- FDA Regulated Industry Experience.
- Ability to lift 60 lbs. unassisted, exposure to allergens and working in aseptic areas required.
- Working in confined spaces, pushing, pulling, and twisting required.
Technician III (in addition to above):
- PLC training or degree desired.
- 4+ years related experience required.
- Mechanical Aptitude; along with PLC duties the position will also provide mechanical maintenance support as directed by maintenance management required.
- The incumbent must possess the knowledge typically attained through successful completion of a two year degree in a technical discipline or a technical certification with 5 to 10 years of practical experience in a process controls or applications type position. This includes the ability to write complex and detailed reports to document work completed.
- 20/30 Near-Point Corrected Vision required.
- Lead Experience, Pharmaceutical Experience, Regulated Industry Experience preferred
- Advanced Vocational/Specialized Knowledge preferred.
- PLC Certified programming certifications preferred.
- Provides analysis, diagnosis or production tasks which noticeably impact end results.
- In the maintenance support role, the candidate will influence corrective decisions and provide critical support to ensure that goals are met.
Shift: Weekend-Day shift, Friday-Sunday And every other Thursday Compensation: This is an on-site, full-time position located in Spokane, WA.
- Technician II: This position pays $34.51to $46.69per hour, depending on experience, with opportunity for growth, promotion and annual raises.
- Technician III: This position pays $38.30to $51.82per hour, depending on experience, with opportunity for growth, promotion and annual raises
- Shift Differential pay is available for this position, and is determined by hours worked on selected shift.

- This position is eligible for a shift premium of $2.00 per hour worked between 3pm and 11pm, and $2.50 per hour worked between 11pm and 7:30am.
