Position Summary Information
Job Description Summary |
Full-time faculty member in the Social Work program at St. Augustine.
As the Program Director, will provide academic leadership to the Social Work program, accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (
CSWE), which is essential for licensure after graduation. The program director demonstrates and fosters excellence in teaching, professional research and service activities at a variety of levels within the academic discipline, within the program, within the School of Healthcare, within the institution and within the community.

Responsibilities |
Responsible to model the University's Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to constituencies, respectful collaboration and active support of the University's Mission as a Catholic and Lasallian institution of higher education.
-Provide leadership and expertise in his or her academic field.
-Teach 8 courses in the area of expertise each academic year per agreement with the Dean of Academic Affairs.
-Submit midterm and final grade reports, performance notices, attendance records, and any other reports pertaining to the assigned courses
-Lead course development and assessment, planning, quality, and the
CSWE accreditation processes within the program.
-Engage in classroom observations, supervision, and evaluation of faculty.
-Report to the School Chair and participate in College, School, and Program committees.
-Participate in the planning and development of program meetings and academic schedules.
-Develop an annual professional development plan for the program.
-Assist in the assignment and hiring of adjunct, part-time and resident faculty.

Minimum Qualifications |
-Master's degree in Social Work and an
LCSW-licensed clinical social worker.
-A minimum of two years' work experience in the field
-A minimum of two years of teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level.
-Experience teaching courses in at least one of the following topics: Social justice and social action, ethics and values in social work, human behavior, social welfare policy, diverse populations, and or social sciences research.
-Experience in teaching online and/or using course learning management systems (
LMS).
-Experience in course development and assessment, planning, quality, and
CSWE accreditation processes.
-Experience working with a diverse population.
-Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
-Demonstrated initial research portfolio that demonstrates promise in terms of generating a highly productive and impactful record including publications and external funding. |
Preferred Qualifications |
-Doctorate in Social Work preferred
-Oral and written bilingual skills (English, Spanish) preferred. |
