Overview Sierra Lobo, offers customers a full range of professional and technical capabilities, including Test and Evaluation, Systems Engineering, and Advanced Technologies. We also develop products and processes related to Cryogenic Fluid and Thermal Management Systems, Densified Propellant Management Systems, and Prototype Extreme Pressure and Temperature Systems. Our customers include the Department of Defense (DoD), the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, Missile Defense Agency (MDA), and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). This position is located at the NASA White Sands Test Facility in Las Cruces, NM in our Technical Services Department. EOE/Minority/Female/Disabled/Veteran Responsibilities Responsible for design, development, test, implementation, and analysis of technical products and systems. Performs engineering design evaluations. May develop a range of products. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Typically reports to a more senior Engineer, supervisor or a manager. May direct the efforts of others. Familiarity of flight hardware, engine, or component refurbishment, procedure development to conduct engine or component level processing such as refurbishment, troubleshooting, decontamination, handling of flight qualified components, support equipment, and pressure vessel requirements per NASA requirements is desirable. Qualifications Engineer - Level I - Requires a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and no experience. Engineer - Level II - Requires a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiarity with commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the engineering field. Familiarity of flight hardware, engine, or component refurbishment, procedure development to conduct engine or component level processing such as refurbishment, troubleshooting, decontamination, handling of flight qualified components, support equipment, and pressure vessel requirements per NASA requirements is desirable. |
