Position Description

Performs advanced, specialized work to assist in the organization and implementation of various projects and programs. Work is performed under minimal supervision within established policies with latitude for independent judgment. Works on special projects as assigned. May substitute for supervisor during his/her absence.

Major/Essential Functions


  • Supervises and coordinates the activities of student assistants and graduate student proctors to ensure the integrity and validity of testing.
  • Assists in the hiring and training of student assistants and graduate student proctors.
  • Participates in the check-in and check-out of testers.
  • Participates in the administration of testing schedules for the Testing Center, assuring that all tests can be administered in the given time period.
  • Provides support to faculty and students with regard to Testing Center policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for following correct procedures in the opening and closing of the Testing Center.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

High school plus six years experience in related field. Additional education may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree plus two years experience in a testing center. Experience dealing with Student Disability Services and ADA issues is a plus.
  • Successful candidates must possess excellent oral, interpersonal, written, and presentation communication skills. They must possess the ability to be detail-orientated, strictly follow directives and plans assigned to them, and be able to handle or resolve daily issues, concerns, and grievances. Must have experience coordinating activities for subordinates and reporting those activities back to management. Able to handle high-stress situations with integrity, respect, and calm professionalism.
  • Familiarity with computer management software(e.g. LanSchool, NetSupport, Netcontrol 2, Lockdown Browser, Deep
  • Freeze); familiarity with LMS Systems (e.g. Blackboard); Experience in logistics, scheduling and operations supervision; Basic computer and software troubleshooting skills; Experience in managing daily activities of subordinates.
