Responsibilities

Suncoast Behavioral Health Center opened its doors in 2014 and provides the highest quality of behavioral healthcare for patients in a safe, secure and nurturing environment. Suncoast Behavioral Health Center is a 60-bed free-standing psychiatric hospital. We offer diverse inpatient and residential programs for children and adolescents.

In a highly specialized field of psychiatry, our goal is to promote cognitive, social, physical and emotional development to provide individuals with the knowledge and skills to help our patients succeed.

The Hospital is looking for a Staff Accountant who will be responsible for the daily intracompany billings, payroll, accounts payable, and financial accounting responsibilities for the facility. All functions and duties for this position are in accordance with IRS and current acceptable accounting principles and practices.

Responsibilities include:

  • Processes payroll via Lawson - Follows proper steps of balancing payroll by running multiple payroll reports and missing time reports
  • Ensures accuracy of payroll prior to releasing batches
  • Responsible for ensuring all departments have turned in timesheets and following up on missing time records
  • Reviews and processes Accounts Payable in a timely manner
  • Edits Kronos reports on an ongoing basis on a departmental basis throughout each pay period accurately
  • Enters new hires immediately after receipt into Kronos with correct class codes and badge numbers. Assures that the same Employee ID # is entered in Kronos as assigned by Lawson
  • Conducts Payroll process training to all new hires during New Hire Orientation.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field.
  • Experience: A minimum of two (2) years' experience in accounts payable/payroll experience, preferably in a health care setting, with a working knowledge of personal computers, payroll/accounts payable systems, Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Skills: Have the ability to deal with diverse and stress related situations in a calm manner. Must be detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy. Effective oral and written communication and guest relation skills required. Must have good organizational and computer technical skills and have the ability to set priorities.
  • Physical Requirements: Visual acuity, accurate hearing, extensive sitting and ability to lift twenty (20) pounds.
