Job Summary:

The Cardiologist is a dynamic and flexible individual who is licensed/board certified with experience in noninvasive cardiology and adult echocardiography. This professional will play a key role in providing direct patient care and assessments and be responsible for the ongoing development and quality control of ArchWell Health's echocardiography program.

Duties/Responsibilities:



  • Provides excellent cardiovascular care in an outpatient setting
  • Management of chronic cardiovascular diseases including ordering appropriate imaging or lab tests and recommending treatment plans as indicated by patient's clinical needs
  • Perform accurate interpretation of lab tests, EKG, and echocardiograms
  • Participates in population management of market's members
  • Assists with implementation of cost reduction strategies
  • Consults with and coaches primary care providers about management of cardiovascular disease and best practices
  • Reviews primary care requests for external cardiology referrals and participates in authorization with emphasis on high quality internal care providers when appropriate
  • Coordination with Cardiologists and Clinical Leadership regarding managing day-to-day operations and participates in meetings for risk and quality management as well as improving clinical quality, efficiency, and patient and physician satisfaction
  • Participates in quality improvement initiatives within cardiovascular department



Required Skills/Abilities:



  • Exceptional communication skills to facilitate patient care including ability to foster and cultivate relationships with primary care physicians, center care team members, and staff
  • Extensive knowledge of cardiovascular disease and evidence-based practices and procedures
  • Well-versed in echocardiography guidelines, standards and practices as dictated by the American Society of Echocardiography
  • Strong analytical skills to handle complex clinical and administrative scenarios
  • Experience with conflict management and resolution
  • Personable, tactful, and professional demeanor
  • Comfortable with electronic medical record charting as well as teleconferencing including telehealth patient encounters
  • Ability to work remotely full-time in a HIPAA-compliant setting



Education and Experience:



  • MD or DO in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
  • Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease
  • Board Certified in Adult Echocardiography
  • Current, unrestricted, active license to practice medicine
  • Current DEA registration
  • Proficient PC skills
