Job Summary
-
As the Pharmacy Manager in the Fire and Rescue Department, you will oversee all pharmaceutical operations, including procurement, inventory management, and compliance with federal, state and local regulations. This role is vital in ensuring safe and efficient emergency medication practices within our organization and to fill it we are seeking an individual with strong knowledge of pharmacy operations and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Manage pharmacy operations, including procurement, budgeting, and inventory. * Creates and maintains policies and procedures pertaining to pharmacy operations. * Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding procurement, distribution, reverse distribution, and administration of controlled medications. * Collaborates with the Operational Medical Director (OMD) and System Chief (or designee) to develop and enact best practices for medication security and reporting. * Supervise pharmacy staff, assigning tasks based on workload. * Analyze data to enhance efficiency and identify cost-saving opportunities. Present findings and make recommendations to management.

Minimum Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in pharmacy and minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, including 1 year in a supervisory role. Must hold and maintain a valid, unrestricted license as a Pharmacy Technician in at least one state, territory, or commonwealth of the U.S.
Current license to practice pharmacy in the Commonwealth of Virginia or other state, territory, or commonwealth of the U.S preferred.

Successful candidate will undergo a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, credit and DMV check.
May be required to work early morning, evening or weekends hours to attend mandatory meetings or meet crucial deadlines.
Must be available 24/7 when required to respond to System emergencies; in the event of such an emergency, this position may be required to work in a different capacity to support the needs of System members/employees.
