The Scheduler is responsible for scheduling duties, patient registration, and additional administrative tasks.
This is a full-time position working Monday- Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm, based out of Edina Specialty Surgery Center.

Essential Functions:
* Responsible for accurately and consistently scheduling and verifying insurance information for all surgical procedures.
* Maintains professional relationships with all physician offices.
* Works in conjunction with Leadership on block scheduling and maintains the schedule flow.
* Assists in training staff in scheduling as needed.
* Accountable for reporting occurrences through the center's established reporting process related to employee and/or patient/visitor events.
* Participates in acceptable continuing education, fostering career and skill development including meeting departmental continuing education requirements.
* Any and all other duties as assigned including those assigned to Patient Services Representative (see Patient Services Representative Job Description) and Non-Clinical Pre-Admission Coordinator (see NCPATC Job Description).
Education and Experience Requirements:
* High School diploma/GED or equivalent
* Medical terminology knowledge preferred
* Two years' experience in medical office setting or related field preferred

- Demonstrate prompt and reliable attendance.
- Work in the surgery center during business hours.
- Travel independently throughout the surgery center (which may include movement from floor to floor); frequent bending, lifting, standing, stooping or sitting for long periods of time may be required.

- Communicate and interact in a respectful and professional manner.
- Prioritize workload while being flexible to meet the expectations of the daily operations.

- Effectively operate equipment and communicate on and operate the phone system.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Travel to other work locations, if required.
