Henderson Engineers is seeking an IT Services Director to join their team in Lenexa, KS. The IT Services Director is a key leadership role assisting to develop, plan and implement the information technology (IT) strategy to meet the organization's business needs and deliver optimal return on investment. They oversee the strategic planning, coordination, and execution of IT initiatives that support acquisitions, divestitures, and other significant business transformations. The Information Technology Services Director owns technology costing, organizational readiness, and business relationship management while driving technology storytelling to ensure alignment with business goals. They will also lead efforts related to the financial stewardship of technology investments, ensuring readiness for technology rollouts, and managing relationships with internal stakeholders to foster seamless technology integration across business functions.

Minimum Qualifications for the Role are:



  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, business administration, or a related field required.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in IT leadership required, with a focus on strategic planning, acquisitions, divestitures, and business relationship management.
  • Proven experience managing IT initiatives related to organizational readiness, financial analysis, and technology rollouts.
  • Strong knowledge of IT costing, budgeting, and financial management in a corporate environment.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Strong relationship management skills, with a proven ability to collaborate and build trust with senior leaders and stakeholders.
  • Experience with change management, IT service delivery, and user adoption strategies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working in a global or multi-location organization.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based solutions, enterprise IT systems, and technology integration during mergers or divestitures.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in all core competencies as described and characterized in this job description.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Master's degree preferred
  • Certifications in ITIL, PMP, or similar IT management frameworks preferred



Physical and Other Requirements:



  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
  • Occasional travel, up to 30%.



Skills and Duties you will be Responsible for while in this role:

Strategic Leadership:



  • Develop and lead the strategic vision for IT administration to support corporate goals related to acquisitions, divestitures, and business transformation.
  • Collaborate with leadership teams to assess organizational needs and ensure IT readiness for acquisitions or divestitures, including system migrations, integrations, and technology due diligence.
  • Act as the primary IT liaison for business leaders, ensuring alignment between technology initiatives and business objectives.
  • Drive and articulate the IT strategy through compelling storytelling, ensuring stakeholders understand the value and impact of IT initiatives.


Core IT Operations & Team Management



  • Oversee the IT purchasing, infrastructure, and the service to ensure efficient, high-quality service delivery aligned with organizational goals.
  • Develop and enforce work standards and best practices across IT services to optimize performance, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the IT team, fostering a high-performance culture and encouraging professional growth.
  • Assess team performance regularly, set measurable goals, and ensure effective resource allocation to meet operational demands.
  • Analyze and ensure the company's technology infrastructure, including costs, value and risk exposure, align with the strategic business plan.
  • Streamline internal operations and optimize their strategic benefits through the selection and implementation of suitable technology.
  • Design and customize technological systems and platforms to improve client experience.
  • Drive business continuity across the organization.
  • Approve purchases of technological equipment and software and establish and maintain partnerships with IT vendors and manufacturers.
  • Clearly and continuously communicate the IT strategy to employees and stakeholders.


Acquisitions & Divestitures



  • Partner with the CTO to co-lead the IT portion of mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, managing the technical evaluation, integration plans, and divestiture execution.
  • Oversee IT system readiness and the smooth transition of technology infrastructure during business changes.
  • Partner with finance, legal, and business units to ensure IT compliance, security, and cost efficiency in transaction processes.


IT Costing & Financial Stewardship



  • Develop and manage the core IT budget ensuring cost transparency and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Evaluate IT project costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure a balanced allocation of resources.
  • Provide detailed financial analysis and reporting to senior leadership on the costs, benefits, and ROI of IT initiatives.


Organizational Readiness & Rollout



  • Drive organizational readiness for IT rollouts, ensuring end-users are prepared for upcoming system changes and technology implementations.
  • Develop and manage IT change management strategies, including communication plans, training programs, and user adoption metrics.
  • Ensure the seamless implementation of IT solutions by coordinating with stakeholders across the business.


Business Relationship Management



  • Function as a key business relationship manager between IT and other business units, fostering effective communication and collaboration across departments.
  • Work closely with senior leadership and department heads to understand business priorities and translate them into IT initiatives.
  • Ensure ongoing alignment between IT service delivery and business needs, driving continuous improvement in service quality and satisfaction.


Technology Storytelling



  • Serve as a technology advocate, communicating the impact and value of IT initiatives to various stakeholders.
  • Utilize storytelling techniques to highlight the strategic role of IT in enabling business success, from financial performance to operational efficiency.
  • Lead presentations and communication efforts to ensure clarity and engagement across all levels of the organization.
