- Up to $2,500 sign on bonus for Clinical Team Assistants
Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time MA position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible. Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth Members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment. MaineHealth Neurology is home to 26 Physicians, 9 Resident Physicians and 9 Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), with a total of nearly 65 staff serving both Adult and Pediatric Neurology patients at its brand new state-of-the-art facility in Scarborough, ME at 92 Campus Drive. Adult Neurology features multiple sub-specialties which include: Epilepsy, Stroke, Multiple Sclerosis, Movement Disorders, Memory, and Pediatric Neurology. In addition to offering advancement opportunities through their MA Clinical Ladder, MaineHealth, Neurology encourages staff development. Employees can participate in educational opportunities and conferences, and are supported in obtaining credentialing and specialty certifications. For those who want to gain leadership experience, MaineHealth, Neurology provides its employees the ability to join department and organization committees. Hours are Monday-Friday, with option to work 4 ten-hour shifts after orientation. Mixture of both clinical and administrative duties such as rooming patients, processing medication refills and insurance authorizations, scanning. We are seeking an MA or Clinical Team Assistant who's committed to providing excellent patient-centered care, a team player, and who has a desire to learn and ask questions!
Position Summary - Medical Assistant The Medical Assistant (MA) role is assigned duties and responsibilities related to patient care and administrative support in a team-based environment while promoting a smooth flow of patients through the office. The Medical Assistant functions under the license of the physician/advanced practice practitioner when performing clinical and other patient care responsibilities. Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) 1. Education: High School diploma or GED preferred. Must meet one of the following requirements: Graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience completed; or completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and 6 months of clinical experience in a practice setting; or 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting (equivalent experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. 2. License/Certifications: Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, or NCCT certification preferred or achieved within 1 year of eligibility. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. A NH Med Tech License, or NH EMT and National Registry EMT license is required for those positions located in New Hampshire. 3. Experience: Relevant experience as a Medical Assistant preferred. 4. Position Summary - Clinical Team Assistant This position is responsible for performing daily patient service functions to support the clinical team in the delivery of patient care. Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) - Clinical Team Assistant -
- Education:Graduate of an accredited vocational program, community college or university in the field of health sciences. Program curriculum must include patient facing experience.
- License/Certifications:Current BLS required or must be obtained within 3 months from start of employment.
- Experience:N/A
- Ability to excel in a team-based care environment.
- Working knowledge of continuous process improvement.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and medical office procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills necessary for interacting with patients, physicians, supervisors and other staff.
- Ability to organize and accomplish multiple tasks and to have the flexibility to meet changing demands on a daily basis.
- Ability to project a pleasant and professional image even under stressful situations
- Analytical ability required to gather and interpret information necessary to resolve problems.
