For a limited time MaineHealth is offering sign on bonuses for Clinical Nursing Assistants (CNA):

  • 0-1 years of experience eligible for $2,500 (full time)
  • 1+ years of experience eligible for $4,000 (full time)
  • Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time CNA position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.
  • Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth Members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.

Unit Bio:

Maine Medical Center's Float Pool offers a unique opportunity for an experienced clinical nursing assistants to expand their knowledge base and sharpen their skill set. A CNA in this position is given the opportunity to train on an array of Med Surg floors, Telemetry units and high acuity settings within Maine's only Magnet designated hospital and level 1 Trauma Center. The assortment of floors and units a CNA could potentially be assigned to may give way to opportunity to practice in highly sought after specialties once trained on multiple units, including pediatrics and Mother/Baby care, that may not otherwise be available at the time of hire. Candidates applying to the Float Pool must possess the ability to think quickly on their feet, remarkable adaptability and critical thinking expertise.

Summary:

oUnder the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurses and according to defined policies and procedures, performs various service duties and technical tasks such as taking vital signs and assisting patients with basic hygiene and activities of daily living. Specific duties may vary by area of assignment. Consideration of the special needs and behaviors of specific patient populations is required.

The Certified Nursing Assistant II role assists in the administration of nursing care to designated patients under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. Performs a variety of direct and indirect care duties.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

1. Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.

2. License/Certifications: Current applicable state(s) license as a Certified Nursing Assistant required. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.

3. Experience: CNA experience 0-6 months. On-the-job training provided.
