GIS Analyst

Position Overview:

The GIS Analyst is responsible for performing geospatial analysis and processing tasks relating to the development of GIS databases, the compilation of geospatial data required for multiple-scale map and database production. The position will support federal and non-federal projects while ensuring delivery of the highest level of geospatial services and products for our clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Working with project teams to support a variety of municipal, state and federal projects.
• Ensure geospatial products are compliant with applicable specifications.
• Construct spatial databases and apply attribution as needed.
• Conduct formalized QA/QC procedures of geodatabases.
• Provide technical support of GIS equipment, software, data, and products.
• Edit spatial and tabular data.
• Create functional GIS models using both raster and vector data.
• Establish complex relational database joins and queries using ArcGIS and other commercially available software.
• Provide mapping and analysis services for various cross functional teams.
• Identify new processes and procedures within a project, as needed.
• Produce professional quality maps and tabular outputs for presentations.
• Perform GPS field work to collect data for use in GIS products.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Geographic Information Systems, Geography, Urban Planning, or similar.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience with knowledge of Federal geospatial services with the Department of Defense (e.g., Navy, Marine Corps, Army), or related experience.
• Experience with the NAVFAC GeoReadiness Program is preferred including SDE, SDSFIE, FIAR, Navy Data Collection Guide, iNFADS and Common Installation Picture (CIP).
• Technical expertise in the areas of Geography, Photogrammetry, Cartography, Imagery Analysis, GIS, Surveying and Civil Engineering.
• Knowledge of federal government (NAVFAC, USACE, etc) spatial data products and services.
• Knowledge and experience with GIS Enterprise, ArcPro, ArcGIS Online preferred.
• Knowledge of GIS data collection and troubleshooting.
• Ability and willingness to travel 30% and up to 2 weeks at a time.
