The Musculoskeletal Regenerative Rehabilitation Laboratory (MMRL) under the direction of Allison Bean, MD, PhD is accepting applications for a highly motivated and experienced Research Technician to join our growing team. The MRRL is a Core laboratory in the Bethel Musculoskeletal Research Center (BMRC), a diverse, multidisciplinary team of physicians and scientists performing cutting edge basic and translational research to improve treatment for musculoskeletal diseases. A successful candidate will work on mechanistically driven projects exploring the potential of extracellular vesicles for tissue repair using in vitro and rodent in vivo models.

Prior wet lab experience including advanced skills in mammalian cell culture is required. Experience with performing the following techniques is desirable: western blot, immunoassays, PCR, histology, microscopy (epifluorescence/confocal), and image analysis. Some experience with handling and performing surgeries on rodents is preferred, but the candidate must at least be comfortable with learning these skills.

The Research Technician will be expected to independently conduct experiments, analyze data, construct graphs and figures, and perform statistical analysis with appropriate guidance from the PI. Must be highly organized, efficient, and keep up-to-date detailed documentation of experimental procedures and outcomes in the electronic laboratory notebook. Will provide some assistance with ordering, inventory, and budget tracking. The Research Technician will contribute to preparation of presentations, manuscripts, and grant submissions. An ideal candidate will demonstrate a willingness to be proactive in troubleshooting technical challenges.
