Overview
The Vermont Department of Mental Health (DMH) resides under the Agency of Human Services (AHS) and has the mission to promote and improve the health of Vermonters. The team at DMH is always striving to maintain the current level of services available in the system of care for Vermonters while continuing to seek opportunities that expand access to mental health services. The goal is to improve the consumer experience by increasing availability, reducing wait times, and removing barriers whenever possible to allow Vermonters and their families to receive the most appropriate care when and where they need it. This position will be primarily responsible for: * Accounts Payable management and entry Work is performed at both the systems and policy levels, under the general supervision of a financial director. All employees of the Agency of Human Services perform their respective functions adhering to four key practices: customer service, holistic service, strengths-based relationships and results orientation. DMH operates on a hybrid work schedule that can be flexible to promote work-life balance and allow for teleworking several days a week. Who May Apply
This position, Financial Administrator I (Job Requisition #51485), is open to all State employees and external applicants. AHS BACKGROUND CHECKS: Candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position. In accordance with AHS Policy 4.02, Hiring Standards, Vermont and/or national criminal record checks, as well as DMV and adult and child abuse registry checks, as appropriate to the position under recruitment, will be conducted on candidates, with the exception of those who are current classified state employees seeking transfer, promotion or demotion into an AHS classified position or are persons exercising re-employment (RIF) rights. Work is performed in a standard office setting. Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent AND three (3) years or more of accounting experience maintaining, reviewing and analyzing financial data and records. OR Associate's degree in accounting, business/office administration AND two (2) years or more of accounting experience maintaining, reviewing and analyzing financial data and records. OR Bachelor's degree in accounting, business/office administration. OR One (1) year or more of experience as a Financial Specialist III with the State of Vermont. NOTE: All levels of required accounting experience, unless otherwise noted, must have been performed to ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and standards. For some positions experience working with the VISION system (VISION is the State of Vermont PeopleSoft financial management system) may be required. Total Compensation
