Chicago, IllinoisAdd to Favorite Jobs Email this Job The Department of Radiology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine seeks a full-time tenure-track eligible continuing appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. Responsibilities include an active translational research environment blending clinical studies with technology developments focused on clinical translational research, with a focus in investigating connections between cardiovascular and neurological diseases. Research activities will span the development and application of advanced radiologic imaging techniques for the assessment of cardio and vascular structures in the thorax, neck, and head, including advanced image processing methods such as deep learning concepts. Specific research areas include (1) mechanisms of heart-brain interactions in cardiovascular and neurological disease such as heart disease, aortic disease, atrial fibrillation, and vascular cognitive decline, (2) highly accelerated MRI and reconstruction (compressed sensing, deep learning, multi-dimensional) for improved cardio- and neurovascular structural and functional evaluations for diagnosis and prognosis and (3) deep learning for advanced data processing, phenotyping of cardio- and neurovascular abnormalities, precision medicine, and improving clinical workflow. Qualified candidates will hold a PhD in computer science, electrical and electronics engineering, biomedical engineering, medical imaging, or a related field. Experience in radiology imaging modalities MRI, CT, PET, and other biomedical imaging techniques, algorithm development for deep learning architectures, clinical translational imaging, advanced mathematics and statistical concepts, biomedical modeling & post-processing, and successful demonstration of extramural funding are essential. Also required is an exemplary record of peer-reviewed publications. The start date is negotiable and the position will remain open until filled. Salary and benefits are highly competitive.
