DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Clerk Typist 3, you will tend to a wide-range of clerical functions such as providing general receptionist duties and typing letters, forms, legal orders, schedules, contracts, vouchers, records, reports, and other similar materials. You will also establish and maintain the agency court schedule for dependency and review hearings, send and sort regular and certified mail, and sort and file various legal documents.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerk Typist 2, and educational development to the level of completion of high school; or
  • One year of progressively complex clerical typing experience and completion of high school; or
  • Six months of moderately complex clerical typing work and completion of a post high school business curriculum; or
  • Any equivalent experience and/or training which provided the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.

  • Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Berks, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon, and Schuylkill counties. If no eligible candidates who live within these counties apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    1. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
