Sentara Independence is hiring a Full-time, Weekend Night Shift, Administrative Associate.

Hours/Shift: Full-time, Weekend Night Shift.

As an Administrative Associate you will provide administrative support to the unit/department(s) you are assigned to. You will serve as the first point of contact for patients, family members and visitors coming into the unit. The Administrative Assistant position requires the application of excellent customer service skills as well as excellent computer and clerical skills.

Sentara Leigh Hospital is a Magnet Status, 250-bed facility featuring all patient-friendly private rooms and specializing in orthopedic, gynecological, and urological services. Sentara Leigh offers a contemporary care environment for general medical/surgical and ambulatory services and is home to the orthopedic hospital, which has 48 beds dedicated to specialized orthopedic care. The hospital offers a full-service Emergency Room with a dedicated observation unit, Critical Care, GI, and Oncology Services. It also encompasses a Family Maternity Center.

One of the following is required:

  • One year of previous work experience in a medical office OR
  • One year or more of previous work experience in customer service OR
  • One year or more of previous work experience in a call center OR
  • One year or more of previous clerical experience OR
  • Associate or bachelor's level degree.

Education Required:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

Job Summary

One of the following four skill levels required: One year experience in medical environment or Completion of higher level of education requirements or Transferable skills, example: one year or more in a call center, customer service application program, clerical etc.
