POSITION SUMMARY: The Clinical Risk and Patient Safety Manager (CRPSM) facilitates and conducts the activities associated with the patient safety and clinical risk management program. These key functions include but are not limited to health care risk management and patient safety foundational elements such as management of the safety reporting program, and investigation of cases that may require root cause analysis as well as facilitation of FMEAs. Facilitates projects identified through safety event reporting or other means and acts as an active participant in department meetings and develops strong relationships with key leaders (nursing, physician and operational) throughout CHRISTUS St. Vincent and the Clinics. Requirements MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, or a clinically related field of study from an accredited college or university. Preferred Education: Master's Degree in Nursing, Risk Management, or a related field of study from an accredited college or university. CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: RN Candidates must have current RN license or valid temporary permit with the New Mexico Board of Nursing; or, valid Compact RN license which must be maintained throughout employment. Must have or obtain the following Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) course certifications:
Certification through a National Accreditation Board in Health Care Risk Management (CPHRM) or Patient Safety (CPPS) or must be obtained within 4 years from Date of Hire through the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management (ASHRM) or other accrediting body. SKILLS:
EXPERIENCE: Two (2) plus years of risk management and/or patient safety experience in an acute care facility. Three (3) plus years of clinical experience in an acute care setting. NATURE OF SUPERVISION: -Responsible to: Director of Risk Management ENVIRONMENT: - Bloodborne pathogen |
