Clinical Therapist/Cognitive Rehabilitation Specialist Clinical Therapist/Cognitive Rehabilitation Specialist This full-time, in-person position is located in Johnstown, PA at the Commonwealth Technical Institute at the Hiram G. Andrews Center (CTI at HGAC). The Hiram G. Andrews Center provides vocational training and comprehensive rehabilitation services to people across the state. The University of Pittsburgh develops, implements, and operates clinical programs located within HGAC through an Intergovernmental Agency Agreement. These programs include the Cognitive Skills Enhancement Program (CSEP) and Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS). CSEP is designed to improve employment outcomes for young adults with cognitive disabilities (e.g. autism, ADHD, LD, TBI) by increasing awareness of strengths, limitations, and impact of disability, through the development of social-emotional and executive functioning skills. Pre-ETS programs are designed to provide pre-employment transition services to younger individuals (14-21 years) with disabilities. This clinical staff position will provide counseling, psychotherapy, and cognitive rehabilitation services at the Hiram G. Andrews Center in Johnstown, PA. The incumbent will provide clinical counseling, cognitive rehabilitation and behavioral health services in Johnstown while serving as a member of a clinical team and supervising subordinate staff/students. Qualifications for the position include a Master's degree in rehabilitation or mental health counseling, psychology, or related field. A minimum of 2-years relevant experience is highly desired. The incumbent must demonstrate the ability and interest to: develop, provide, and support therapeutic needs of individuals with mental health and cognitive disabilities; provide individualized therapeutic services to clients in vocational programming; maintain and coordinate individual and group rehabilitation and mental health programming in conjunction with the Hiram G. Andrews Center; document clinical interactions; maintain confidential records and protected information; train and supervise subordinate staff/students; communicate the needs of the program to superiors, co-workers and staff; teach related coursework in counseling, cognitive rehabilitation, and behavioral health; and support and expand the counseling program/department and its mission. A strong background in evidence-based clinical intervention, assessment and service provision with persons with mental/behavioral health and cognitive disabilities is required. Individual and group counseling and/or psychotherapy experience with individuals with cognitive and mental health disorders is essential. Certification (CRC or NCC) and licensure (LPC) preferred, but not required. Job Summary Provides targeted, advanced-level, clinical counseling, psychotherapy, cognitive rehabilitation and/or behavioral health services addressing a range of mental health concerns for a diverse population of students/clients utilizing specialized techniques to foster development, remediate mental health problems, and promote positive mental health. Facilitates comprehensive assessments and treatments, referrals for hospitalizations, and/or case reviews. Essential Functions Provide in-person individual and group counseling, psychotherapy, and cognitive rehabilitation and behavioral health services while serving as a member of a clinical team. The incumbent must demonstrate the ability and interest to: provide evidence-based counseling interventions to individuals with cognitive and mental health disabilities; provide individualized therapeutic services to clients in vocational programming; maintain and coordinate individual and group rehabilitation and mental health programming in conjunction with the Hiram G. Andrews Center; document clinical interactions; maintain confidential records and protected information; train and supervise student interns; provide support, development, training, and consultation services to HGAC training and student service programs; communicate the needs of the program to superiors, co-workers, and staff; and support the Department of Counseling and Behavioral Health and its mission. Master's degree in Counseling or related field is required. A minimum of 2 years relevant experience is highly desired. A strong background in evidence-based clinical intervention, assessment, and service provision with persons with cognitive and mental/behavioral health disabilities is required.
