JOB SUMMARY: Manages and supervises the coordination and implementation of activity therapy programming and the delivery of services in an effective manner.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assess patient to interpret reason for admission, strengths and weaknesses in the areas of cognitive abilities, socialization skills, leisure skills, motor development and physical/mental condition within 72 hours of admission.
• Demonstrate competency in writing a therapeutic intervention pertaining directly to the patient's reason for admission.
• Therapies are age appropriate, consistent with level of growth, development and functioning, and consistent with overall treatment goals.
• Develops, implements and delivers a well versed therapeutic program for each population served.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Recreational or Music Therapy

Minimum of two years' experience in Recreation or Music Therapy field working with a mental health population. At least one year supervisory experience.

Must be a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist with NCTRC or Board Certified Music Therapist (within 6 months of hire).

Experience in inpatient and outpatient mental health settings at a supervisory/management level.
