Job Summary

The Office of Career and Professional Development is a multidisciplinary team that designs career and professional development training, tools, and opportunities for UCSF's emerging researchers and clinicians. We see our role of supporting students and postdocs to develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to navigate their careers successfully as part of UCSF's overall education mission.

The Researcher Team at OCPD works with PhD students, master's students, and postdocs from their first day until one year after departure from UCSF. We provide programs, resources, and consultations that support UCSF students and postdocs to navigate their time at UCSF, explore careers, and move into positions that meet their personal definition of success.

The Program Manager provides a critical link between the Researcher Team and the populations we serve by developing and implementing marketing and outreach strategies to keep students and postdocs informed about our services. The person in this role will craft the tone of the office's relationship with students and postdocs. They will use their organizational skills to support the smooth delivery of our entire portfolio of content, and they will conduct assessments to help us better meet needs and tell the story of the impact of our work.

The role is highly collaborative. Working with the Assistant Director and Program Director, the Program Manager creates and updates online resources and live programs. They also work directly with our student and postdoc workers by facilitating the cohort's activities. In coordination with our event planner, the Program Manager oversees event logistics and facilitates participation for our live programs. The Program Manager also works closely with our partner offices to offer events in collaboration.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $61,200 - $130,600 (Annual Rate).
