The division of Medical Education within the UC San Diego School of Medicine consists of the following units: Undergraduate Medical Education, Admissions & Student Affairs, Diversity and Community Partnerships, Graduate Medical Education, Continuing Medical Education & Faculty Development, Simulation Education, Physician Assistant Education, Anatomical Services, Business Affairs and Educational Technology. The division supports the education, training and co-curricular activities of approximately 560 medical students, 90 physician assistant students, 1000 residents and fellows as well as the faculty, physician and healthcare providers at UCSD's School of Medicine, its' Medical Centers, and affiliates. Responsible for independently directing operations of the Anatomical Preparation Laboratory. Manage resource inventories, decide request priorities, re-allocate cadaveric material, and direct morgue daily business. Independently make cadaver disposition decisions, and embalm or create disarticulated specimens as priorities indicate. Coordinate with Director of Anatomical Services to maintain a perpetual inventory of cadavers, specimens, and prosections. Maintain critical donor records and other legal documents. Maintain compliance of Program with state and federal statutes, as well as University system-wide and local policies. Responsible to coordinate with faculty to determine educational needs and participate in the organization, presentation, and breakdown of the School of Medicine (SOM) and SPPS core course laboratories and Continuing Medical Education (CME) courses covering several medical disciplines. Perform brain autopsies for existing university brain donation programs contributing critical insights to medical research and diagnostics. The role requires expertise in neuropathology, meticulous documentation, and adherence to safety and ethical standards in the examination of brain tissue. Applies extensive knowledge of body donation protocols and processes to lead major program components of an anatomical donation program. Performs full range of all aspects of the body donation program. Demonstrates good judgement in allocating anatomical materials, as required by clinical educators, researchers, and clinics. Provides training to staff and students, provides and presents training materials. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $85,400 - $156,800 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $40.90 - $75.10 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
