Title: Site Safety Manager Location: Des Moines Duration: 18 month Contract w/ possible extension Contract Type: W2 Compliance: Willing to consent to Drug & Background Pay Rate: Flexible depending on Safety Management experience Start Date: TBD in Dec 2024 or Jan 2025 *Top Required Skills* 1) Must have 8+ years of prior Construction Safety Management experience. Data Center construction experience preferred. 2) Experienced with full Construction Safety lifecycle including: lock out/tag out, audits, meetings with senior stakeholders, insurance checks, orientation, documentation, onsite safety, and closeout procedures. 3) Candidate must have active OSHA-500 or be eligible and willing to get *Job Description* * * This resource will also potentially be needed periodically to respond to a site to intervene when there is an increase in safety incidents. Currently the DCX Microsoft Construction Safety Managers respond to the site to perform a "deep dive" and help facilitate an improvement strategy. A senior level safety manager may be requested to respond on their behalf if they are unable due to other conflicts. The DCX organization is also in the process of EHS program development. The EHS Advisors on the individual sites will play a role in the development of baseline regulatory procedures. This Senior Safety Manager may be utilized to support the coordination and implementation of these SMPs and / or to support other high level programmatic procedures and policies. In addition to the anticipated tasks identified above, the Senior Safety Manager will be required to participate in the following: Initial orientation in Redmond, WA with all site EHS Managers and Project Executive. initial Project Executive - MSFT Safety Manager "workshop" to present objectives and MSFT program and strategy. Periodic MSFT Safety Management - Project Executive meetings every 2-3 months. Most of these will be held in Redmond but could be at the various job sites. *Typical task breakdown and rhythm:* 40% - Walking the job site twice a day, they would be in offices inside construction trailers onsite. 40% - Most of this work will be in the field and coordinating with General Contractor in regard to Microsoft safety requirements. 20% - Engage in meetings (high-risk-activity meetings), weekly Microsoft meetings they need to attend. *Years of Experience Required:* We are looking for 5+ years of experience as a Safety professional. Expecting to come in and hit the ground running and not be trained on how to manage as safety program. There is guidance but expect others to hit the ground running. *Degrees or Certifications Required - *No degree but an OSHA-500 certification is required.
